Mwangi Peter Wanderi

Professor Mwangi Peter Wanderi is the Principal Corporate Services and Communication at Mount Kenya University (MKU) and has close to 40 years of research, teaching and community engagement both in mainstream physical education & sports as well as in entrepreneurship and youth empowerment. Wanderi served as the Acting Vice-Chancellor at Mount Kenya University (MKU) between November 2019 and April 2020.

Currently, Wanderi is coordinating several local and international, inter-disciplinary and multi-institutional projects at Mount Kenya University, including as overseer of the United Nations Academic Impact SDG 10 Hub on Reduced Inequalities. His key responsibility includes championing the SDGs 2030 Agenda and specifically SDG 10 on Reduced Inequalities across the globe. Wanderi has held a series of presentations in Japan (2021 online), Ehiopia (2022), Nigeria (2022), Uganda (2022), Tanzania (2023), Estonia (2023), Scotland (2023), and variously in Kenya since 2021. He also, serves as the MKU’s Graduate Enterprise Academy’s Overseer, which is MKU’s job creation forum. His most outstanding grant projects  that he is involved in are Leuphana University’s (Germany) Students Training for Entrepreneurial Promotion (STEP) which in introduced in Kenya in 2012; the African Centre for Career Enhancement & Skills Support (ACCESS) and the University of the West of Scotland’s Center for African Research on Enterprise and Economic Development (CAREED). Wanderi was instrumental in the establishment of Chandaria Business Innovation and Incubation Center at Kenyatta University prior to joining MKU.
