Bio
Emily Fintel Kaiser serves as Strategic Advisor to the President at EARTH University since 2017. In that role she has worked with the President, leadership team and community of the University to develop both EARTH’s 2018-2022 and 2023-2027 Strategic Plans. She also served for 3 years as the founding Executive Director of EARTH Futures, the University’s global center for solutions that partners with rural communities, academic institutions, and other like-minded partners around the world to transform rural communities and food systems for the better. Prior to EARTH, she served 14 years in leadership and executive roles at Fundación Avina, a global organization that drives processes designed to change systems. Her professional history also includes roles at INCAE Business School, the Inter-American Dialogue and the Inter-American Foundation. A native of the US, Emily has lived abroad for nearly 20 years in Latin America, Europe and Africa. She maintains a special connection with Costa Rica, the country where she has lived the longest outside of the United States. Emily holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Cornell University and a Master of Arts degree from John Hopkins University’s School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS).
