Global Travel Assistance and Insurance for FIU's Travelers

Effective May 1, 2023, FIU’s provider for international travel assistance is International SOS and insurance coverage is underwritten by Chubb. Coverage includes the below benefits and enrollment in this plan is completed by obtaining an approved Travel Authorization Request (TAR) in Panthersoft. No separate enrollment is required. This is a free benefit to FIU's international travelers.

Students, faculty, staff and affiliated travelers who go on FIU business abroad enjoy the benefit of comprehensive travel assistance with International SOS. Travelers are advised to utilize International SOS's global intelligence portal that offers security, safety and medical information at great depth for any country in the world.

Prior to departing abroad, download and print a copy of the membership ID card and always have this information handy. Never hesitate to call International SOS for safety advice or to inquire about coverage benefits. This service is provided to all of FIU's international travelers free of charge.
