Biography

Magda Novelli Pearson is a Teaching Professor of Italian for the Modern Languages Department at FIU. In this role, she is the Program Coordinator as well as the Director of two annual Study Abroad Programs in Italy and Advisor of the Italian club. Magda obtained a Bachelor in Modern Languages and Literatures from University of Perugia and a Master in Teaching Italian as Second Language from Ca’ Foscari University (Venice). She obtained her PHD in Italian Literature and Cinema from Middlebury College (VT). Magda is currently involved in several COIL projects with international universities in Italy (Universita' per Stranieri di Perugia e Universita' di Firenze), Colombia (Javeriana di Bogota), and Canada (Univeristy of Toronto). Aside from teaching she collaborates with the Italian Consulate in Miami and promotes Italian language and culture in South FL.
